PRAYERS FROM A GRATEFUL HEART: Thank You for Your Provision

Oct 11, 2026  •  David Artessa

Welcome to Monticello Baptist Church online! We’re grateful you’re worshiping with us today as we begin a brand-new sermon series, PRAYERS FROM A GRATEFUL HEART.

Over the next several weeks, leading up to Thanksgiving, we’ll explore different people throughout Scripture who experienced God's goodness and faithfulness. Together, we'll consider the many reasons we have to be thankful and how we can develop hearts of gratitude—not just during Thanksgiving, but in the ordinary moments of everyday life.

This Sunday, Pastor David Artessa will begin the series with a message titled “Thank You for Your Provision” from Genesis 22:1–14. Through the familiar account of Abraham and Isaac, we'll be reminded that gratitude begins when we recognize that God always provides exactly what we need.

Sometimes God's provision doesn't look the way we expect, and sometimes we struggle to understand what He is doing. But Abraham's experience reminds us that we can trust God's character even when we don't understand His plan. And ultimately, this passage points us toward God's greatest provision—Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who gave His life for our salvation.

As we worship together, may we take time to slow down, recognize the blessings God has already placed in our lives, and remember the One from whom every good gift comes. Before we ask God for what we need next, may we thank Him for what He's already provided.
