The Memorial Service for Jaxon Keith Kelly

Jul 13, 2025

Jaxon Kelly, age 15, of Monticello, passed away on July 5, 2025. Jaxon, a cherished son, grandson, brother, and friend, left a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.

Born on October 20, 2009, to Ashley and Ryan Kelly, Jaxon grew up surrounded by the love and support of his family, which included his caring grandparents Keith and Margie Batting, Tim Matthews, and Deloris Ledford, as well as his devoted siblings Jacob Baker, Madison Kelly, and Jacob Stevenson. His extended family of aunts, uncles, and a multitude of friends also played a pivotal role in his life, providing a network of love and companionship.

Jaxon's passion for life was evident to everyone who knew him. A student at Jasper County High School, he was in the 10th grade. A true sports enthusiast, Jaxon's love for football was unparalleled. He played with heart and soul for Monticello Hurricane’s, demonstrating not only his athletic abilities but also his teamwork and leadership skills on and off the field. Music also played a significant role in Jaxon's life. Whether he was listening to his favorite tunes or creating his own beats, his passion for music was a testament to his creative spirit. Jaxon's adventurous side shone through in his love for 4-wheelers. This zest for adventure was a symbol of how he lived his life—boldly, with the throttle wide open. But above all, Jaxon treasured his friendships. His ability to forge deep connections with people from all walks of life was a gift. He had an innate capacity to make each of his friends feel valued and important, a quality that drew people to him and made them feel at ease in his presence.

As we mourn the loss of Jaxon Kelly, we also celebrate the remarkable young man he was. Though his time with us was far too short, the memories he created will be cherished and kept alive.

A Memorial Service for Jaxon will be at 3:00PM, Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Monticello Baptist Church with Reverend David Artessa officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the church on Sunday prior to the service.
