Hope in the Waiting

Dec 21, 2025    David Artessa

Welcome to Monticello Baptist Church online! We’re glad you’re worshiping with us on the Sunday before Christmas as we conclude our Advent sermon series, The Waiting People.

This morning, Pastor David Artessa will preach the final message in the series, “Hope in the Waiting,” from Isaiah 40:1–11. Written to weary people living in exile, this passage speaks words of comfort, assurance, and hope. Isaiah reminds us that our hope is not wishful thinking, but a confident expectation rooted in the faithfulness of God. As Christmas draws near, we are reminded that our waiting ultimately finds its fulfillment in the coming of Christ—Emmanuel, God with us.

Wherever you find yourself this season—waiting, weary, or longing—this message points us to the unchanging Word of God and the Savior who comes to rescue His people.
