RENEW IN ME: The Weight of Sin

Welcome to Monticello Baptist Church online! We’re grateful you’re worshiping with us today as we continue our sermon series, RENEW IN ME.

This Sunday, Pastor David Artessa will be preaching a message titled “The Weight of Sin” from Psalm 51:3–6. After David stops defending his sin, he begins to face it honestly. He recognizes what he has done, agrees with God about the seriousness of his sin, and realizes that his problem goes deeper than his actions—it reaches into his heart.

Sometimes we can carry something for so long that we simply get used to the weight. But Jesus didn’t come to teach us how to carry the weight of our sin better. He came to carry it for us. Healing begins when we stop making excuses and honestly confess our sin before God.
